Episode Seven - Johnny Buck - Kneeling On Heads - 03/03/21
Friday Mar 05, 2021
Friday Mar 05, 2021
Johnny Buck is a 10th Planet Brown Belt from Asheville, North Carolina. A retired Pro MMA fighter, an ex Division One Wrestler, decorated Catch Wrestler, and the owner of Rogue Combat in his home town, Johnny is a highly experienced coach and competitor.
He's also an a$$hole.
In this podcast Johnny goes into great detail on how to kneel on someones head til they love you, the fine art of balancing incredible violence and not scaring people away, and the real reason people do Jiu-Jitsu.
Easily one of the most fun podcasts I'll ever do. Check this one out.

Episode Six - El Jefe and The Villain Reap The Weak - 28/02/21
Wednesday Mar 03, 2021
Wednesday Mar 03, 2021
El Jefe (Naqi Arshed) and myself, the Villain, answer questions from you, yes you, every week in this thoroughly biased Podcast.
Thank you to the wonderful members of our Discord channel for this weeks ideas. We managed to condense it down to one larger discussion this week, how to integrate sport methods into regular Jiu-Jitsu training. We also prod slightly into the Gordon/Galvao incident, and how to pronounce El Jefe (it's not El Jeff!).

Episode Five - Josh McKinney - 25/02/21
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Tuesday Mar 02, 2021
Josh McKinney is an American BJJ Black Belt, the host of the increasingly popular "The I Suck at Jiu-Jitsu Show" Podcast, an incredibly prolific online coach, and easily one of the nicest guys in all of Jiu-Jitsu.
I was very fortunate and honoured to appear on Josh's Podcast back in the middle of 2020 (https://youtu.be/mb61xuy_jJI), and he was gracious enough to come and appear on Villaincast.
In this Podcast we talk delve a little bit into Josh's Jiu-Jitsu and Martial Arts past, how the scene was in the late noughties early twenty-tens, and most importantly, our approach to conceptual Jiu-Jitsu.
Josh and I really connected in the first Podcast on this subject, so to hear how he has adapted and created an unorthodox approach to coaching based on creating a deeper understanding of Jiu-Jitsu, you'll be able to feel the nerd-romance blossom throughout this show.
Definitely check out his work on the I Suck at Jiu-Jitsu Show (https://www.facebook.com/I-suck-at-Jiu-jitsu-Show-110086897203860/), easily found on most Podcast outlets, and on his Instagram where he posts almost daily snippets of Jiu-Jitsu gold.
This was a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it too.

Episode Four - Priit Mihkelson - 22/02/21
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Over the last couple of years, there has been a name gathering an almost mythical reputation. Considered an underground coaching king of sorts, a "European Danaher", Priit Mihkelson has amassed a sometimes fanatical fanbase of hyper-frustrating Jiu-Jitsu desciples. From his cerebral approach to coaching, to his comprehensive system of Defence, Priits legend has only continued to grow. The man to award me my black belt (and inspire most of how I approach Jiu-Jitsu), I got a chance to sit down with Priit and discuss at great length his approach to coaching, how the pandemic has affected how he spreads his style of teaching, and what initially made him curious that something was missing in the world of Jiu-Jitsu.
Even I, someone who knows Priit and his ways very well by now, found this Podcast incredibly informative and has already changed how I intend to approach teaching when we finally return to the mats this Spring.
If it has piqued your interest and you would like to learn more about Priits system and approach to Jiu-Jitsu, visit https://defensivebjj.com

Sunday Feb 21, 2021
Sunday Feb 21, 2021
El Jefe (Naqi Arshed) and myself, the Villain, answer questions from you, yes you, every week in this thoroughly biased Podcast. This week our mail bag was a little full (but we did our best), and talked about subjects such as the core principles on winning the grip fight, how to prioritise your time in your gym, and who we think our top 3 online instructors are. The result may SHOCK you.
Tune in next week for another Episode of Reap the Weak. If you would like to send us questions for us to answer, please visit the Discord Channel at

Episode Two - Charles Harriott - Don't Be An A-hole - 19/02/21
Saturday Feb 20, 2021
Saturday Feb 20, 2021
"Don't Be An A$$hole".
Charles Harriott is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, currently residing in Gainesville, Florida.
Describing his Jiu-Jitsu competition record as "sometimes compete, sometimes win", Charles is the every man of Jiu-Jitsu, except he did what most people can only dream of. Charles packed his bag, said goodbye to his home town, and travelled the world with Jiu-Jitsu.
This is his story.

Episode One - El Jefe and The Villain Reap The Weak - 14/02/21
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Monday Feb 15, 2021
What's this? We're back? No, not yet. But, here is our entirely new weekly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Podcast and our entirely new show, Reap the Weak. For this very first episode, El Jefe (Naqi Arshed) and I talk about subjects raised on the Discord channel, such as why mount is taught completely wrong, and that cloning competitors may not be a terrible thing. If you like what you hear and want to talk to us about anything we've discussed, or give us new topics for the future, please join the Discord Channel at https://discord.gg/rwYHJBJXCp
